Even with the late start for fishing - early July - the productivity of the lake remains good until the fall. There are reports of trout over 4 lbs. but the average is usually around 1 lb. Dry fly fishing and most traditional B.C. patterns seem to do well in this high elevation lake. The lake has a good Chironomid hatch and it is during this time that fishing may be at its best. Spinning gear is also a good bet. A number of good spawning streams feed into Garibaldi Lake making stocking unnecessary. Although the fish will not grow really large in this or other alpine lakes, it is the fabulous scenery that will entice you back. Ice Over - November to June.
